29 CFR 1910.212(a)(1): One or more methods of machine guarding was not provided to protect the operator and other employees in the machine area from hazards such as those created by point of operation, ingoing nip points, rotating parts, flying chips and sparks: (a) Fabrication area; On and before May 30, 2020, the employer did not provide an effective means of guarding on Bystronics brand press brakes to protect operators from point of operation and rotating part hazards. An employee received an amputation injury while bending a workpiece on a Bystronics press brake (S/N 13530007).
