Exposed nails from debris was not kept cleared from work areas and passageways, in and around the front entrance of the jobsite.

Employees were accessing a working surface by way of a portable ladder whose side rails did not extend at least 3 feet above the upper landing surface being accessed.

29 CFR 1926.501(b)(1): Each employee on a walking/working surface with an unprotected side or edge which was 6 feet (1.8 m) or more above a lower level was not protected from falling by the use of guardrail systems, safety net systems, or personal fall arrest systems. At the jobsite located at 1616 Grand Boulevard, Kansas City, Missouri 64108, employees were exposed to serious fall hazards. The unprotected sides and edges of the elevated work area was not provided with guardrails or any other means of fall protection. The employees were exposed to a fall hazard of 18 feet 10 inches to the ground below. Abbot Properties, LLC. was previously cited for a violation of this occupational safety and health standard or its equivalent standard 1926.501(b)(1), which was contained in OSHA inspection number 1214576, citation number 1 item number 2 and was affirmed as a final order on 02/26/2018, with respect to a workplace located at 2020 Grand Boulevard, Kansas City, Missouri 64108
