29 CFR 1910.1200(e)(1): The employer did not develop, implement, and/or maintain at the workplace a written hazard communication program which describes how the criteria specified in 29 CFR 1910.1200(f), (g), and (h) will be met: (Construction Reference: 1926.59) Employees engaged in roofing activities were exposed to injury/illness from dermal, ingestion, and inhalation hazards from exposure to gasoline, silicone and paint. The employer had not developed or implemented a written hazard communication program to ensure the employees were aware of the hazards associated with the chemicals with which they works.

29 CFR 1910.1200(g)(8): The employer did not maintain copies of the required material safety data sheets for each hazardous chemical in the workplace: (Construction Reference: 1926.59) Employees engaged in roofing activities were exposed to injury/illness from dermal, ingestion, and inhalation hazards from exposure to hazardous chemicals. A copy of the required safety data sheets for gasoline, silicone and paint were not maintained at the residential construction site. At the time of the inspection, employees were using gasoline to fuel an air compressor.

Employees engaged in roofing activities were exposed to injury/illness from dermal, ingestion, and inhalation hazards from exposure to hazardous chemicals. Employees had not been provided with training or information regarding the hazardous chemicals with which they work. Hazardous chemicals such as gasoline, silicone and paint were used at the construction site.
