29 CFR 1926.1053(b)(1): Where portable ladders were used for access to an upper landing surface and the ladder's length allows, the ladder side rails did not extend at least 3 feet (.9 m) above the upper landing surface being accessed: a) On or about July 2, 2019, the controlling employer, Hoffman Weber Construction, LLC, did not ensure a portable ladder extended at least 3 feet beyond the upper landing surface so as to protect subcontracted employees from fall hazards of approximately 29 feet while accessing the roof. 29 CFR 1926.501(b)(13): Employees engaged in residential construction activities 6 feet or more above lower levels were not protected by guardrail systems, safety net system, or personal fall arrest system, nor were employees provided with an alternative fall protection measure under another provision of paragraph 1926.501 (b): a) On or about July 2, 2019, the controlling employer, Hoffman Weber Construction, LLC, did not ensure subcontracted employees were protected from fall hazards of approximately 29 feet while engaged in residential re-roofing operations. HOFFMAN WEBER CONTRUCTION, LLC WAS PREVIOUSLY CITED FOR A VIOLATION OF OCCUPATIONAL SAFETY AND HEALTH STANDARD 29 CFR 1926.501(B)(13) OR ITS EQUIVALENT WHICH WAS CONTAINED IN OSHA INSPECTION 1323633, CITATION 1, ITEM 1, WHICH WAS AFFIRMED AS A FINAL ORDER ON JULY 9, 2018, WITH RESPECT TO THE WORKPLACE LOCATED AT 6050 EAST HINSDALE CT., CENTENNIAL, CO 80112. Abatement Note: Abatement certification and documentation are required for this item (see enclosed Certification of Corrective Action Worksheet).
