29 CFR 1910.212(a)(1): One or more methods of machine guarding was not provided to protect the operator and other employees in the machine area from hazards such as those created by point of operation, in-going nip points, rotating parts, flying chips and sparks:  a)  Production, Line 2 - On or about July 5, 2019, employees working at or near the Line 2 Hand Top Conveyor and Cheese Melt Conveyor were exposed to an ingoing nip point between two rotating conveyor belts.  The conveyor belts were not guarded, thereby exposing employees to hazards associated with ingoing nip points and rotating parts.    The Rich Products Corporation was previously cited for a violation of this occupational safety and health standard or its equivalent standard 29 CFR 1910.212(a)(1), which was contained in OSHA inspection #1043923, citation number 2, item number 1 and was affirmed as a final order on May 20, 2015, with respect to the workplace located at 21511 Division Street, Crest Hill, Illinois 60403.

29 CFR  OSH ACT of 1970 Section (5)(a)(1):The employer did not furnish employment and a place of employment which were free from recognized hazards that were causing or likely to cause death or serious physical harm to employees:  On or about July 5, 2019, employees working at or near the Line 2 Hand Top Conveyor and Cheese Melt Conveyor were exposed to injury between two rotating conveyor belts when an employee attempted to unjam equipment (a tool/squeegee) caught between two rotating conveyor belts and employer had not ensured adequate specific procedural steps for shutting down or securing equipment in the event tools, equipment or materials became caught in a conveyor transition point or between belts, rollers, or tools, were developed and implemented.   This language is not intended to circumvent, or serve as an alternative, to the requirements of the Act or standards promulgated thereto including 29 C.F.R. � 1910.147.
