29 CFR 1910.218(a)(3)(vi): Oil swabs, or scale removers, or other devices to remove scale shall be provided. These devices shall be long enough to enable a man to reach the full length of the die without placing his hand or arm between the dies. On or about July 4, 2019, employees were exposed to caught in hazards while working on an operating trim/forming press in Cell # 3 without an oil swab or other device of adequate length. Employees reached into dies resulting in amputation injuries. Abatement documentation is required for this item in accordance with the requirements of 29 CFR 1910.103(d).
