29 CFR 1910.28(b)(1)(i): The employer did not ensure that each employee on a walking-working surface with an unprotected side or edge that is 4 feet (1.2 m) or more above a lower level was protected from falling by a guardrail system, safety net system, travel restraint system or personal fall arrest system: Employees engaged in ginning activities were exposed to fall hazard of approximately 7 feet 11 inches from the walking/working surface (catwalk) to the opening below in the basement in that a guardrail system was not in place to protect employees from falling and tripping hazards while working/walking on the catwalk. 29 CFR 1903.19(c)(1) requires certification that the abatement of the above violation is complete.
