29 CFR 1910.217(c)(1)(i): The employer did not provide and ensure the usage of point of operation guards or properly applied point of operation devices on every operation performed on mechanical power press(es): a. On or about August 5, 2019 the employer failed to provide effective guarding at the point of operation on the tail work section of the Amp-O-Electric mechanical power press #19. The guard that was in place did not cover all sides of the point of operation. b. On or about August 5, 2019 the employer failed to provide effective guarding at the point of operation on metal connectors section of the Amp-O-Electric mechanical power press #17. The guard that was in place did not cover all sides of the point of operation. c. On or about August 5, 2019 the employer failed to provide effective guarding at the point of operation on metal connectors section of the Amp-O-Electric mechanical power press #16. The guard that was in place did not cover all sides of the point of operation. d. On or about August 5, 2019 the employer failed to provide effective guarding at the point of operation for the pin setter section of the Press Rite 8605 mechanical power press #13. The guard that was in place did not cover all sides of the point of operation. The Electric Cord Sets, Inc. was previously cited for a violation of this occupational safety and health standard or its equivalent standard 1910.217(c)(1)(I), which was contained in OSHA inspection number 1130630, citation number 1, item number 3 and was affirmed as a final order on April 19, 2016, with respect to a workplace located at 4700 Manufacturing Ave, Cleveland Ohio 44135.
