29 CFR 1910.95(c)(1): A continuing, effective hearing conservation program as described in paragraphs (c) through (n) of this section, was not instituted when employee noise exposures equaled or exceeded an 8-hour time-weighted average sound level (TWA) of 85 decibels: (a) On or about 08/05/2019, in the green end, lathe operator was not part of a hearing conservation program, exposed to continuous noise at 105.2% of the permissible daily exposure limit (8 hour time weighted average sound level) or an equivalent sound level of approximately 90.37 decibels for 182 minutes. Zero exposure was assumed for 298 minutes. (b) On or about 08/05/2019, in the finish area, saw operator was not part of a hearing conservation program, exposed to continuous noise at 70.2% of the permissible daily exposure limit (8 hour time weighted average sound level) or an equivalent sound level of approximately 87.45 decibels for 220 minutes. Zero exposure was assumed for 260 minutes.
