A-frame stepladder in the closed position to access the second working level while performing wood framing activities, resulting in a fall hazard of up to 9.10 ft. onto earthen ground.

A-frame stepladder while performing wood framing activities, resulting in a fall hazard of up to 6 ft. onto earthen ground.

29 CFR 1926.501(b)(13): Each employee(s) engaged in residential construction activities 6 feet (1.8 m) or more above lower levels were not protected by guardrail systems, safety net system, or personal fall arrest system, nor were employee(s) provided with an alternative fall protection measure under another provision of paragraph 1926.501 (b):  a) At the jobsite, on or about August 7, 2019, employees working on upper levels while performing wood framing activities were exposed to fall hazards of up to 19.4 feet and fall protection was not provided.  Dago Aburto was previously cited for a violation of this occupational safety and health standard or its equivalent standard 29 CFR 1926.501(b)(13), which was contained in OSHA inspection number 1364081, citation number 1, item number 1, and was affirmed as a final order on February 7, 2019, with respect to a workplace located at 167 Sawgrass Drive Savannah, GA 31419.  Dagoberto Torres Aburto was previously cited for a violation of this occupational safety and health standard or its equivalent standard 29 CFR 1926.501(b)(13), which was contained in OSHA inspection number 1308782, citation number 2, item number 1, and was affirmed as a final order on June 22, 2018, with respect to a workplace located at 127 Verde Bend Drive Savannah, GA 31419.

29 CFR 1926.1053(b)(1): Where portable ladders were used for access to an upper landing surface and the ladder's length allows, the ladder side rails did not extend at least 3 feet (.9 m) above the upper landing surface being accessed:  a) At the jobsite, on or about August 7, 2019, the employer did not provide a safe means of egress in that employees used an aluminum extension ladder that did not extend 3 feet above the upper landing surface to access and exit the second working level of a new residential building during wood framing activities, resulting in fall hazards of up to 9.10 feet onto earthen ground.  Dagoberto Aburto was previously cited for a violation of this occupational safety and health standard or its equivalent standard 29 CFR 1926.501(b)(13), which was contained in OSHA inspection number 1209397, citation number 1, item number 3, and was affirmed as a final order on May 23, 2017, with respect to a workplace located at 145 Waverly Way (Lot #175) Savannah, GA 31407.
