The employee was exposed to a fall hazard. The employee was exposed to a fall hazard of approximately 17 feet.

29 CFR 1926.501(b)(1): Each employee on a walking/working surface with an unprotected side or edge which was 6 feet (1.8 m) or more above a lower level was not protected from falling by the use of guardrail systems, safety net systems, or personal fall arrest systems: On or about August 13, 2019, the employer failed to ensure employees were protected from falling when working 6 feet above the lower level. The employees were installing metal roofing on the building. They were not anchored to a fall protection system. Employees exposed to a fall hazard of approximately 18 to 20 feet to the lower level. The Smith Brothers Erectors, LLC was previously cited for a violation of this occupational safety and health standard or its equivalent standard 29 CFR 1926.760(a)(1), which was contained in OSHA inspection number 1409628, citation number 1, item number 2 and was affirmed as a final order on July 19, 2019 with respect to a workplace located at 911 West Pflugerville Parkway, Pflugerville, TX 78660.
