29 CFR 1910.212(a)(1): One or more methods of machine guarding was not provided to protect the operator and other employees in the machine area from hazards such as those created by point of operation, ingoing nip points, rotating parts, flying chips and sparks: Polisher Area: On or about August 12, 2019, employees operating the hydraulic cylinder polishers (JCE Polisher #1 ) were exposed to struck by and caught in hazards such as flying chips and clothing caught in rotating parts as a result of insufficient guarding on the outer polisher head. Abatement certification required within 10 days after abatement date. The certification shall include a statement that abatement is complete, date, and method of abatement, and states employees and their representatives were informed of this abatement.

29 CFR 1910.303(b)(1)(ii): Electrical equipment was not free from recognized hazards, based on the mechanical strength and durability, including, for parts designed to enclose and protect other equipment, the adequacy of the protection thus provided: a) Polish Area: On or about August 12, 2019, the flexible electrical conduit supplying power to the JCE Polisher #1 was broken exposing energized internal conductors to damage. This condition creates a shock and fire hazard to employees. No abatement certification or documentation required
