29 CFR 1926.501(b)(11): Each employee on a steep roof with unprotected sides and edges 6 feet (1.8 m) or more above lower levels were not protected from falling by guardrail systems with toeboards, safety net systems, or personal fall arrest systems: On or about August 16, 2019 the employer failed to ensure that employees performing roofing activities were protected from falling to the ground approximately 30-35 feet below. Conventional fall protection was not in place or utilized by employees. 29 CFR 1926.1053(b)(1): Where portable ladders were used for access to an upper landing surface and the ladder's length allows, the ladder side rails did not extend at least 3 feet (.9 m) above the upper landing surface being accessed: On or about July 16, 2019 employees were exposed to a fall of approximately 20 feet while performing roofing activities on a commercial site located at the NE corner of Jaycox and Detroit Ave., Avon, OH. The employees were using an extension ladder to access the roof and the employer did not ensure that it extended at least three feet above the landing area. LATIN IN THE HOUSE LLC. was previously cited for a violation of this occupational safety and health equivalent standard 29 CFR 1926.1053(b)(1), which was contained in OSHA inspection number 1405526, citation number 1 , item number 3 and was affirmed as a final order on July 16, 2019 with respect to a workplace located at 1209 Berwin, Akron, OH.
