29 CFR 1926.501(b)(13): "Residential construction." Each employee engaged in residential construction activities 6 feet (1.8 m) or more above lower levels was not protected by guardrail systems, safety net system, or personal fall arrest system unless another provision in paragraph (b) of this section provides for an alternative fall protection measure. a) On or about September 18, 2019, at the above referenced inspection site, employees performing roofing work while on the 8/12 pitched residential roof were exposed to falls of approximately 20 feet (two stories). The employer failed to ensure employees utilized personal fall arrest systems, or other means, to protect employees from falls.
