Select Roofing, 2251 West 23rd Street, Erie, PA, on or about October 9th, 2019, and times prior thereto: Employees worked with and around hazardous substances including, but not limited to, Conklin brand Tack Coat, and Conklin brand Benchmark Base Coat during roof coating activities. A written hazard communication program had not been developed and implemented. ABATEMENT CERTIFICATION REQUIRED: Abatement certification is required within 10 days after the abatement date noted on the citation (see below). This certification shall include a statement that abatement is complete, the date abatement was completed, method of abatement, and state that employees and their representatives were informed of this abatement.

The employer did not provide effective hazard communication training for all employees who worked with and around hazardous substances. Select Roofing, 2251 West 23rd Street, Erie, PA, on or about October 9th, 2019, and times prior thereto: Employees were periodically exposed to various hazards including, but not limited to, chemical/dermal exposure to the hands/skin during work operations with and around hazardous substances including, but not limited to, Conklin brand Tack Coat, and Conklin brand Benchmark Base Coat during roof coating activities. Employees were not wearing appropriate hand protection to protect their hands from exposure to the products.
