OSH ACT of 1970 Section (5)(a)(1): The employer did not furnish employment and a place of employment which were free from recognized hazards that were causing or likely to cause death or serious physical harm to employees when employees were exposed to entanglement and struck-by hazards caused by unsecured climbing/rigging ropes being fed into a wood chipper.:  On or about: 10/23/2019  Location: Driveway   a) Employees use a Brush Bandit Brush Chipper Model #1390 to reduce tree branches and brush during tree trimming operations. The employer did not take steps to ensure that climbing/rigging ropes were kept clear of the chipper feed, exposing employees to entanglement and struck-by hazards.     NOTE: Because abatement of this violation is already documented in the inspection case file, the employer need not submit certification or documentation of abatement for this violation as normally required by 29 CFR 1903.19.
