29 CFR 1910.212(a)(1): One or more methods of machine guarding was not provided to protect the operator and other employees in the machine area from hazards such as those created by point of operation, ingoing nip points, rotating parts, flying chips and sparks: a) At the lathe area, on or about 11/6/2019: A Cincinnati Lathe (#117) was operated without a guard around the rotating chuck. b) At the grinding area, on or about 11/6/2019: A SuperTech Cylindrical Grinder was operated without the panel guard. BABBITT BEARINGS INC., WAS PREVIOUSLY CITED FOR A VIOLATION OF THIS OCCUPATIONAL SAFETY AND HEALTH STANDARD, ITS EQUIVALENT, OR ESSENTIALLY SIMILAR STANDARD, 29 CFR 1910.212(A)(1) WHICH WAS CONTAINED IN OSHA INSPECTION NUMBER 1073102, CITATION NUMBER 1, ITEM NUMBER 1, ISSUED ON 8/7/2015, AND AFFIRMED AS A FINAL ORDER ON 8/19/2015 WITH RESPECT TO A WORKPLACE LOCATED AT 734 BURNET AVENUE, SYRACUSE, NY 13203
