29 CFR 1926.251(c)(9): Slings were not padded or protected from the sharp edges of their loads: a) GEM Industrial on or about November 22, 2019, at the address of 330 Milliard Rd. (ACT Building), Toledo, OH: A SW100 Single Leg Sling utilized in a choker configuration to hoist a steel column was not rigged in a way that protected the sling from the sharp edges of the steel member, contributing to sling failure under load. Employees working near this condition were exposed to struck-by hazards.
