29 CFR 1910.212(a)(2): Guards were not affixed to the machine where possible or secured elsewhere if for any reason attachment to the machine is not possible.     On or around February 6, 2020 and at times prior thereto, at the Anthony Timberlands sawmill in Arkadelphia, Arkansas the employer did not ensure that guards were installed or secured and maintained on portable electric heaters to prevent workers from coming in contact with the heating element and other surfaces in/on the heater.    a) Heater 1 - Model OH-454, portable infrared heater from Aitken Products, located near the re-saw station in the processing area, was not guarded.    b) Heater 2  - Model OH-454, portable infrared heater from Aitken Products, located near the re-saw station in the processing area, was not guarded.

29 CFR 1910.219(c)(2)(i): All exposed parts of horizontal shafting in the infeed section of the process seven (7) feet or less from floor or working platform were not protected with guarding.  On or around February 6, 2020, at the Anthony Timberlands sawmill in Arkadelphia, Arkansas the employer did not guard against hazards presented by horizontal shafting by installing and maintaining stationary casing to enclose shafting completely or by a trough enclosing the sides and top or sides and bottom of shafting as the location requires.

29 CFR 1910.219(f)(3): Sprocket wheels and chains which were seven (7) feet or less above the floor or platform were not enclosed:  (a) On or around January 24, 2020 and at times prior thereto at the Anthony Timberland sawmill in Arkadelphia, Arkansas the employer did not enclose the gear/sprocket and chain assembly on the left side of the control panel, which is less than seven feet above the floor/operating elevation to protect workers.  (b) On or around January 24, 2020 and at times prior thereto at the Anthony Timberland sawmill in Arkadelphia, Arkansas the  employer did not enclose the gear/sprocket and chain assembly on the right side of the control panel, which is less than seven feet above the floor/operating elevation to protect workers.

On or around January 24, 2020 at the Anthony Timberland sawmill in Arkadelphia, Arkansas the employer did not maintain the flap system on the resaw to ensure rigidity and positioning are sufficient to prevent worker exposure to the infeed rolls.

29 CFR 1910.242(b): Compressed air used for cleaning purposes was not reduced to less than 30 psi    (a) On or around February 6, 2020 the employer at the Anthony Timberlands sawmill in Arkadelphia, Arkansas, in the operating areas near the infeed to the resaw and the quad bandmill, the employer allowed workers to use compressed air not reduced to less than 30 psi for the purpose of cleaning.
