29 CFR 1926.652(e)(2)(i): The excavation was greater than 2 feet below the bottom of the support system: (a): Exterior- Trench - An employee was in an excavation that was greater than 2 feet below the bottom of the support system. One employee was inside a trench with an approximate depth of 8 feet and was exposed to cave-in and engulfment hazards when the excavation was approximately 5-6 feet below the bottom of the support system, on or about March 9, 2020. There is no abatement certification or documentation required for this item. Underground Utilities Corp. was previously cited for a violation of this occupational safety and health standard or its equivalent standard 29 CFR 1926.652(e)(2)(i), which was contained in OSHA inspection number 1220849, citation number 1, item number 3 and was affirmed as a final order on 7/26/2017 , with respect to a workplace located at Perrine Road in Monmouth Junction, NJ.
