29 CFR 1926.501(b)(1): "Unprotected sides and edges." Each employee on a walking/working surface (horizontal and vertical surface) with an unprotected side or edge which is 6 feet (1.8 m) or more above a lower level shall be protected from falling by the use of guardrail systems, safety net systems, or personal fall arrest systems. a. On or about March 17, 2020, located at 43 at New Albany at 5711 Menerey Lane Columbus, Ohio, employees were installing trusses from the 3rd floor exterior top plate without any means of fall protection, thereby exposing the employees to a fall of approximately 30-35 feet. Wineco Construction, LLC. was previously cited for a violation of its equivalent Occupational Safety and Health standard 1926.501(b)(13) which was contained in OSHA inspection number 1332205, citation number 1, item number 1 and was affirmed as a final order on August 16, 2018, with respect to a workplace located at 2177 Nimishillen Church Street NE, Canton, Ohio 44721.
