OSH ACT of 1970 Section (5)(a)(1): The employer did not furnish employment and a place of employment which were free from recognized hazards that were causing or likely to cause death or serious physical harm to employees, in that employees were not protected from truss collapse hazards which can cause crushing and struck-by injuries: Jerusalen Martinez on or about April 11, 2020, at the address of 1501 Pray Blvd. Waterville, OH: The employer did not ensure sufficient and correctly installed temporary bracing was applied to the 49 ft. trusses erected onsite, exposing employees to crushing and struck-by hazards during collapse. Among others, one feasible means of abatement to is to install temporary bracing as outlined in the 2008 Building Component Safety Information (BCSI): Guide to Good Practice for Handling, Installing, Restraining & Bracing of Metal Plate Connected Wood Trusses is produced jointly by the Wood Truss Council and the Truss Plate Institute.
