Each employee engaged in residential construction activities 6 feet (1.8 m) or more above lower levels shall be protected by guardrail systems, safety net system, or personal fall arrest system unless another provision in paragraph (b) of this section provides for an alternative fall protection measure.   On and about June 2, 2020, two employees were exposed to fall hazards while installing siding on a two story apartment building by walking on the roof from the ladder access to the dormer wall they were working at without personal fall arrest systems and no alternative fall protection measures installed 2695 Howard Commons Drive, Howard, WI. The roof eave height was 18 feet above the ground. The travel distance on the roof  was over 30 feet. The employees had been using the roof area to access their work areas over 3 days without setting up and using fall protection.    Rhyo Siding and Restoration, Inc. was previously cited for a violation of this occupational safety and health standard or its equivalent standard, which was contained in OSHA inspection number 1369471, citation number 1, item number 5, and was affirmed as a final order on 8/26/2019, with respect to a workplace located at 364-372 S. Jewel Ct. Palatine, IL 60074.
