29 CFR 1910.212(a)(1): One or more methods of machine guarding was not provided to protect the operator and other employees in the machine area from hazards such as those created by point of operation, ingoing nip points, rotating parts, flying chips and sparks: a) Meat Plant: The guard interlock on the Risco patty forming/cutting machine had been defeated permitting the machine to operate with the guard in the raised position and employees exposed to the cutting blade and forming wheel, as observed on or about June 15, 2020. Abatement Certification Required.
