29 CFR 1926.652(a)(1): Each employee in an excavation shall be protected from cave-ins by an adequate protective system designed in accordance with paragraph (b) or (c) of this section except when: On July 9, 2020, an employee was exposed to struck by hazards while working in an excavation located at the intersection of Bellevue and Amy Sts., Green Bay, WI, when the excavation was greater than 5' deep and when the faces of the excavation were not sloped in accordance with the soil type.
