29 CFR 1926.652(a)(1): Each employee in an excavation was not protected from cave-ins by an adequate protective system designed in accordance with 29 CFR 1926.652 (b) or (c). On July 10, 2020, an employee was exposed to engulfment on the Aspirus Hospital Campus in Wausau while working at the base of the slope a 12.5' deep excavation in type B soil when the sides were not sloped in accordance with the soil type.
