Employees engaged in residential framing activities, walking the top plates, were exposed to fall hazards of approximately 25 feet from the roof of the residence to the ground below in that fall protection was not provided.

29 CFR 1926.1053(b)(1): Portable ladders were used for access to an upper landing surface and the ladder side rails did not extend at least 3 feet (.9 m) above the upper landing surface to which the ladder was used to gain access: At the jobsite located at 6417 S Cedardale Ave, Derby, Kansas. Employees engaged in residential framing activities were exposed to fall hazards of approximately 12 feet from the eave of the residence to the ground below while accessing and exiting the roof in that the portable ladder did not extend at least 3 feet above the upper landing and was not secured to the residence.
