The guarding device shall be in conformity with any appropriate standards therefor, or, in the absence of applicable specific standards, shall be so designed and constructed as to prevent the operator from having any part of his body in the danger zone during the operating cycle. a. On or about August 5, 2020, and at times prior, in the Cutting Department, both ends of Cutter 11 did not have the point of operation adequately guarded resulting in employees being exposed to amputation and laceration hazards. Employee exposure to the hazard resulted in a finger tip amputation injury on or about July 14, 2020.
