29 CFR  1910.212(a)(1): One or more methods of machine guarding was not provided to protect the operator and other employees in the machine area from hazards such as those created by point of operation, ingoing nip points, rotating parts, flying chips and sparks:   a) United States Forest Service, Blanco Ranger District at 220 E. Market St, Meeker, CO 81641: On or before October 14, 2020, the employer did not ensure that the Delta, Model 15, Drill Press was properly guarded, in that the rotating bit was used without a guard. Guarding was not provided to protect machinists and other employees from hazards created by the rotating parts of drill presses throughout the shop. This condition exposed employees to amputation and struck-by hazards.

29 CFR  1910.213(c)(1): Circular handfed ripsaw(s) were not guarded by an automatically adjusting hood which completely enclosed that portion of the saw above the table and above the material being cut:   a) United States Forest Service, Blanco Ranger District at 220 E. Market St, Meeker, CO 81641: On or before October 14, 2020, the employer did not protect employees from injury in that the Delta Unisaw 10" Tilting Arbor Saw was not equipped with an automatically adjusting hood which would enclose the saw blade.  The table saw was used where the blade was exposed without a guard.  These conditions exposed employees to amputation and struck-by hazards.

Market St, Meeker, CO 81641: On or before October 14, 2020, the employer did not protect employees from injury in that the Delta Unisaw 10" Tilting Arbor Saw was not equipped with a spreader or riving knife. 29 CFR  1910.303(b)(1): Electrical equipment was not free from recognized hazards that were likely to cause death or serious physical harm to employees:   a) United States Forest Service, Blanco Ranger District at 30500 County Road 8, Meeker, CO 81641. : On or before October 14, 2020,  the employer failed to provide a workplace free from recognized electrical hazards in that the electrical wire providing power to the Porter Cable Router, had exposed wiring and insulation and the outer insulating sheathing was replaced with electrical tape in various locations on the power cord. This condition exposed the employees to the hazard of electrical shock.

Material Safety Data Sheets (MSDS) were present in the shop area and not been updated to Safety Data Sheets(SDS), as required.  This condition potentially exposed employees to chemical hazards.
