29 CFR  1910.179(j)(1)(ii):The employer did not performed frequent and periodic inspections as defined in paragraphs (a) and (b) of this section:  At the establishment, employees engaged in food processing for pets were exposed to struck-by and crushing hazards from cranes which hoist materials in the work areas, none of which had had either frequent or periodic inspections.  29 CFR 1903.19(c)(1) requires certification that the abatement of the above violation is complete.

29 CFR  1910.184(e)(1):Alloy steel sling(s) did not have permanently affixed durable identification stating size, grade, rated capacity, and reach:  At the Bone Processing Department, employees engaged in bone processing activities were exposed to amputation and struck-by hazard in that the employer permitted the use of an alloy steel chain sling with a permanently affixed durable identification stating size, grade, rated capacity, and reach that was not readable.  29 CFR 1903.19(c)(2) abatement of the above violation was verified at time of inspection, no certification is required.

29 CFR  1910.184(e)(3)(i):A thorough periodic inspection of alloy steel chain slings was not made on a regular basis and/or were done at intervals greater than once every 12 months:  In the Bone Processing Area, employees engaged in animal food processing activities were exposed to a struck-by hazard from a falling load when using a alloy steel chain sling attached to a overhead crane without being thoroughly inspected at least once every 12 months.  29 CFR 1903.19(c)(1) requires certification that the abatement of the above violation is complete.
