29 CFR 1910.138(a): The employer did not select and require employee(s) to use appropriate hand protection when employees' hands were exposed to hazards such as those from skin absorption of harmful substances; severe cuts or lacerations; severe abrasion; punctures; chemical burns; thermal burns; and harmful temperature extremes. Waterblast Department - On or about November 23 and December 7, 2020 employees operating manual waterblast cabinets sustained severe lacerations which resulted in hospitalizations where their hands came in contact with high pressure water and the hand protection provided by the employer was not adequate to protect the employees from the known hazard.
