29 CFR 1910.212(a)(1): One or more methods of machine guarding was not provided to protect the operator and other employees in the machine area from hazards such as those created by point of operation, ingoing nip points, rotating parts, flying chips and sparks.  Location:  Foundry Room Pacific Kiln oven #45 Model PBF-75NG, serial number 0614-334.  On or about February 22, 2024, employees were exposed to the pinch point between the oven door and the safety latch when the oven door was in the open position, where there was a space of approximately 2 inches for fingers to get in while manually operating the safety latch. This condition resulted in an employee suffering a partial finger amputation when their finger was crushed between the oven door and the safety latch while attempting to close the oven door.
