29 CFR 1926.501(b)(13): Each employee engaged in residential construction activities 6 feet (1.8 m) or more above lower levels was not protected by guardrail systems, safety net system, a personal fall arrest system, or an alternative fall protection measure as provided by another provision in paragraph (b) of this section: a. Employees performing roofing work are not being protected from fall hazards through the use of a fall protection system. The employer fails to ensure effective protection against falls as required by the standard, as demonstrated on or about December 10, 2020, on the roof of the adjoining townhouses at 130 and 140 Southern Bridge Blvd Saint Johns, FL, 32259, when employees installing shingles on the 6:12 pitch roof were exposed to fall hazards of 8 feet to 18 feet high, in that they were not protected by a fall protection system. The Reliant Roofing Inc. was previously cited for a violation of this occupational safety and health standard, which was contained in OSHA inspection number 1283295, Serious citation number 1, item number 3 and was affirmed as a final order on February 12, 2018, with respect to a workplace located at 1507 2nd St. Ponte Vedra FL, 32082.
