Effective January 1, 1998, body belts are not acceptable as part of a personal fall arrest system. Note: The use of a body belt in a positioning device system is acceptable and is regulated under paragraph (e) of this section. a. Located at 4252 Town Square Drive in Canal Winchester, Ohio: On or about December 11, 2020, employees were performing roofing work while using climbing harnesses attached to a lifeline. The harnesses were not approved for use as a personal fall arrest system, thereby exposing employees to an approximately twenty foot fall hazard.
