29 CFR 1910.303(b)(2): Installation and use. Listed or labeled equipment shall be installed and used in accordance with any instructions included in the listing or labeling. (a) Rural King store No. 50 in Peru, IL, checkout registers No. 1 and No. 2 - on or about December 30, 2020, cashiers were exposed to electrical hazards associated with turning the overhead lights on/off because flexible cords were not installed and used as intended where they were cut for permanent wiring to light switches. There is no abatement certification or documentation required for this item. (b) Rural King store No. 50 in Peru, IL, checkout register No. 3 - on or about December 30, 2020, cashiers were exposed to electrical hazards associated with turning the overhead light on/off because a flexible cord was not installed and used as intended where it was cut for permanent wiring to a light switch. (b) Rural King store No. 50 in Peru, IL, checkout register No. 3 - on or about December 30, 2020, cashiers were exposed to electrical hazards associated with turning the overhead light on/off because a flexible cord was used to connect a light switch with an outlet below the desk in lieu of permanent wiring.
