29 CFR 1926.651(f):When mobile equipment was operated adjacent to a trench and or excavation, or when such equipment was required to approach the edge of a trench and or excavation, and the operator did not have a clear and direct view of the edge of the excavation, a warning system was not being utilized such as barricades, hand or mechanical signals, or stop logs.
