29 CFR 1926.304(d): Portable, power-driven circular saw(s) were not equipped with a guard above and below the base plate or shoe: (a) On or about February 3, 2021, an employee; using a Makita 7.25 inch circular saw to cut roof rafter boards, was exposed to a cut-by hazard in that the lower guard was held in the open position. (b) On or about February 3, 2021, an employee; using a Makita 7.25 inch circular saw with its base plate set at an angle to cut hip roof rafter boards, was exposed to a cut-by hazard in that the lower guard was held in the open position.
