29 CFR 1910.132(d)(1):The employer did not assess the workplace to determine if hazards are present, or are likely to be present, which necessitate the use of personal protective equipment: Employees were exposed to noise hazards. Employees operating the press extruding aluminum were exposed to continuous noise levels at 112.3% of permissible daily noise exposure (8-hour time-weighted average sound level of 90.8 dBA), during the 340 minutes sampling period on February 25, 2021; exposure calculations included a zero increment for the 140 minutes not sampled. The employer did not assess the workplace to determine if hazards are present, or are likely to be present, which necessitate the use of personal protective equipment.

Employees operating the press extruding aluminum were exposed to continuous noise levels at 112.3% of permissible daily noise exposure (8-hour time-weighted average sound level of 90.8 dBA), during the 340 minutes sampling period on February 25, 2021; exposure calculations included a zero increment for the 140 minutes not sampled. The employer failed to utilized feasible administrative controls subjecting employees to sound exceeding those listed in Table G-16 of the standard.
