29 CFR 1910.212(a)(1):One or more methods of machine guarding was not provided to protect the operator and other employees in the machine area from hazards such as those created by point of operation, ingoing nip points, rotating parts, flying chips and sparks: (a) On or about March 9, 2021 at the worksite located at 807 Pleasant Valley Road, West Bend, WI, the employer did not ensure the pouching machine in the Delkor Room was guarded. On the portion where the packaging material is loaded into the pouching machine, there were unguarded in-running nip points and rotating bars where packaging material traversed, thereby exposing workers to caught-in-between hazards. (b) On or about March 9, 2021 at the worksite located at 807 Pleasant Valley Road, West Bend, WI, the employer did not ensure the Bar 2 Foil Feed unit in the Bar Room was guarded. On the portion where the packaging material is loaded into the pouching machine, there were unguarded in-running nip points and rotating bars where packaging material traversed, thereby exposing workers to caught-in-between hazards.
