29 CFR 1910.151(c):Where employees were exposed to injurious corrosive materials, suitable facilities for quick drenching or flushing of the eyes and body were not provided within the work area for immediate emergency use: a)Production floor: Quick drenching and flushing facilities, capable of providing fifteen minutes of continuous flow, were not provided when an operator used caustic soda beads (lye-corrosive) while removing solidified product from holding tank #4 and received burns, on or about 3/1/21 b)Mixing area: Quick drenching and flushing facilities, capable of providing fifteen minutes of continuous flow, were not provided where mixers pour caustic soda beads (corrosive) into the mixing machines on or about 3/1/21. NOTE: REQUIREMENTS FOR EYEWASH AND QUICK DRENCHING STATIONS SHOULD BE A CONTIUOUS FLOW FOR 15 MINUTES WITHOUT THE USE OF HANDS. NOTE: THE EMPLOYER IS REQUIRED TO SUBMIT BATEMENT CERTIFICATION FOR THIS ITEM. FAILURE TO COMPLY WILL RESULT IN AN ADDITIONAL PENALTY $1,000.00 IN ACCORDANCE WITH 29 CFR 1903.19.
