29 CFR  1910.95(c)(1): The employer did not administer a continuing, effective hearing conservation program as described in 29 CFR 1910.9(c) through (o) whenever employee noise exposures equal or exceed an 8-hour time-weighted average sound level of 85 decibels measured on the A scale, or equivalently a dose of fifty percent:  Amitron, Inc., Elk Grove Village, IL- The employer did not establish a continuing hearing conservation program which included noise monitoring, audiometric testing of employees and training of employees as detailed in the standard, for their employees working at Amitron, Inc.,  Elk Grove, Village, IL, when employee noise exposures were indicated to at at or above the 8-hour time-weighted average of 85 decibels.  a) An Amitron employee working on the Electroless copper plating line in the Production Room was exposed to continuous noise levels at 73.12% of the allowable OSHA 8-hour time-weighted average sound level (90 dBA). The equivalent dBA level of 73.12% is approximately  87.7 dBA, which exceeds the action level of 85 dBA. The sampling was performed for 489  minutes during an 8-hour shift on May, 2021.  No abatement certification or documentation is required for this item

There was no running water when activated.  c) The emergency eyewash & safety shower where the electroless copper plating line  is located, where caustics/corrosives such as sodium hydroxide sulfuric acid and hydrochloric acid are used, was not in operating condition.  There was no running water when activated.  d) There was no suitable emergency eyewash & safety shower near the silver immersion line where corrosives such as sulfuric acid and nitric acid are used.  No abatement certification or documentation is required for this item
