29 CFR  1910.138(a):The employer did not select and require employee(s) to use appropriate hand protection when employees' hands were exposed to hazards such as those from skin absorption of harmful substances, severe cuts or lacerations, severe abrasions, punctures, chemical burns, thermal burns, and harmful temperature extremes.  On or about March 29, 2021 in the AN Unit 2, the employer did not require employees use appropriate hand protection when workers hands were exposed to thermal burn hazards while working on the superheat steam coil of the Number 3 Reactor.    a) Boilermaker Foreman hands were exposed to thermal burns when appropriate hand protection was not utilized while repairing the piping joint in the superheat steam coil system.   b) Boilermaker 1 hands were exposed to thermal burns when appropriate hand protection was not required and utilized while repairing the piping joint in the superheat steam coil system.   c) Boilermaker 2 hands were exposed to thermal burns when appropriate hand protection was not required and utilized while repairing the piping joint in the superheat steam coil system.   d) Boilermaker 3 hands were exposed to thermal burns when appropriate hand protection was not required and utilized while repairing the piping joint in the superheat steam coil system.
