29 CFR  1910.1200(h)(1):Employees were not provided effective information and training on hazardous chemicals in their work area at the time of their initial assignment and whenever a new hazard that the employees had not been previously trained about was introduced into their work area:  (a) On or about April 12, 2021, the employer did not provide effective information and training on hazardous chemicals to welders regarding chemicals in their work area at the time of their initial assignment. Welders were unaware of the physical and health hazards of hexavalent chromium, or that they were exposed to hexavalent chrome during welding work on stainless steel. Welders were also unaware of the physical and health hazards of lead, and were not aware that they could be exposed to lead through the course of their welding work.
