OSH ACT of 1970 Section (5)(a)(1)  Section 5(a)(1) of the Occupational Safety and Health Act: The employer did not furnish employment and a place of employment which were free from recognized hazards that were causing or likely to cause death or serious physical harm to employees, in that employees were not protected from the hazard of contracting the virus, SARS-CoV-2 (severe acute respiratory syndrome coronavirus 2), the cause of the COVID-19 disease. 29 CFR 1910.151(c): Where employees were exposed to injurious corrosive materials, suitable facilities for quick drenching or flushing of the eyes and body were not provided within the work area for immediate emergency use:  The employer is failing to protect employees from chemical burn hazards. This violation was most recently documented at a worksite located at or near 102 Lincoln Ave., Ravenna, Nebraska on or about April 27, 2021. There is no eyewash station available for use immediately outside of the North engine room.

29 CFR 1910.303(b)(1):  Electrical equipment was not free from recognized hazards that were likely to cause death or serious physical harm to employees:  The employer is failing to ensure that employees were protected from electrical hazards. This violation was most recently documented at a worksite located at or near 102 Lincoln Ave., Ravenna, Nebraska on or about April 27, 2021. There were exposed electrical wires that were not completely encased inside conduit powering the grinding machine control panel.

29 CFR 1910.119(d)(3)(ii): The employer did not document that equipment complies with recognized and generally accepted good engineering practices:   North and South engine rooms: On or about April 27, 2021, at 102 Lincoln Ave., Ravenna, Nebraska at the Darling Ingredients facility, the employer did not document that it complied with its chosen recognized and generally accepted good engineering practice (RAGAGEP), including ANSI/IIAR Standard 2 - 2014 (Standard for Safe Design of Closed-Circuit Ammonia Refrigeration Systems) Section 5.14.5, when it did not ensure that 4 ammonia system valves located in the North (1 - AS01-GV005 Globe Shut-off Valve) engine room and South (3 - 3407 Angle Valve, 3404 Globe Valve and 3405 Hand Expansion Valve) engine room were clearly labeled.
