Each employee engaged in residential construction activities 6 feet (1.8 m) or more above lower levels shall be protected by guardrail systems, safety net system, or personal fall arrest system unless another provision in paragraph (b) of this section provides for an alternative fall protection measure. a) New residential construction; LOT 712; Roof: On or about 4/28/2021, and at times prior, the employer exposed employees to fall hazards , in that a complete fall protection system was not provided to employees who were conducting roofing activities on a 8:12 pitched roof at heights measured at 22 feet 5 inches to the lower level. Employees were carrying bundles of shingles in preparation to install the shingles on the roof.
