29 CFR 1910.133(a)(2): The employer shall ensure that each affected employee uses eye protection that provides side protection when there is a hazard from flying objects. Detachable side protectors (e.g. clip-on or slide-on side shields) meeting the pertinent requirements of this section are acceptable. (a) DOA Line 1& 2: On or about 6/16/2021, and times prior, the employer exposed employees to struck-by hazards in that employees are using compressed air at 90 psi without a chip guard to clean and remove excess material from equipment. This produces dust and flying particulates and the employer does not require the use of eye protection with side protectors.
