29 CFR 1910.132(a): Protective equipment was not used when necessary whenever hazards capable of causing injury and impairment were encountered, Warehouse, Forklift Battery Filling Area. On or about June 21 through July 6, 2021, employees who poured water from a bottle into open cells on powered industrial truck batteries did not wear personal protective equipment to protect against lead acid splashes to the eyes, face, hands and torso. Abatement documentation is required for item in accordance with 1903.19(d).

Warehouse, Forklift Battery Filling Area. On or about June 21 through July 6, 2021, employees who poured water from a bottle into open cells on powered industrial truck batteries did not have access to a functioning eyewash station in the event of a battery acid splash to the eyes. Abatement documentation is required for item in accordance with 1903.19(d).
