Each employee on a walking/working surface (horizontal and vertical surface) with an unprotected side or edge which is 6 feet (1.8 m) or more above a lower level shall be protected from falling by the use of guardrail systems, safety net systems, or personal fall arrest systems. On or about July 21, 2021, during the installation of fascia boards to exterior rafters and nailing roof rafters of a commercial building during the construction of an assisted living facility, located at 4700 Idle wood Drive, Brooklyn, OH 44144; the employer did not ensure employees working on the roof section of were protected from a fall greater than 6 feet by utilizing a fall protection system.

29 CFR 1926.453(b)(2)(v):A body belt shall be worn and a lanyard attached to the boom or basket when working from an aerial lift. On or about July 21, 2021, during installation of Fascia board to the exterior rafters of a commercial building located at 4700 Idle wood Drive, Brooklyn, OH 44144, the employer did not ensure an employee working from a JLG Model 460SJ aerial lift was wearing and utilizing a body belt (harness) and lanyard attached to the basket of the aerial lift. J B Construction was previously cited for a violation of this occupational safety and health standard or its equivalent standard 1926.453(b)(2)(v) Aerial lifts, which was contained in OSHA inspection number 1182562, citation number 01, item number 001 and was affirmed as a final order on 11/07/2019, with respect to a workplace located at 907 W. Aurora rd. Null, Sagamore Hills, OH 44067.
