29 CFR 1910.212(a)(1): One or more methods of machine guarding was not provided to protect the operator and other employees in the machine area from hazards such as those created by point of operation, ingoing nip points, rotating parts, flying chips, and sparks. On or about July 27, 2021, at the band saw/drill press work area: (b) Employees used a Summit 20 inch Drill Press, Model# 3XHD, Serial#129 to put holes in metal stock. The drill press was not guarded, exposing employees to making contact with the unguarded chuck and unused portion of the drill bit and being struck by flying metal pieces from the drilling process.

On or about July 27, 2021, in the Band Saw/Drill Press Area of the facility, the electrical switches were blocked by hats, and jackets on the control panel switch.
