29 CFR 1910.243(c)(3): Abrasive wheels used on the vertical portable grinder(s) (right angle head grinders) were not provided with safety guard(s) having a maximum exposure angle of 180 degrees and located between the operator and wheel:(a)(LOCATION)(IDENTIFY SPECIFIC OPERATION(S) AND/OR CONDITIONS)(DESCRIBE HAZARD(S) WHERE NECESSARY) a) Fort Donelson Battlefield/Cemetery, Maintenance Bay: On or about August 25, 2021, and at times prior, the employer exposed employees to a struck-by hazard, in that the grinding wheels on the Dewalt D28402 (371419) portable grindier workers were using to sharpen lawnmower blades were not guarded. b) Fort Donaldson Battlefield/Cemetery, Maintenance Bay: On or about August 25, 2021, and at times prior, the employer exposed employees to a struck-by hazard, in that the grinding wheels on the Deswalt D28110 (769401) portable grinder workers were using to sharpen lawnmower blades were not guarded.

29 CFR 1910.1200(g)(8): The employer did not maintain in the workplace copies of the required safety data sheets for each hazardous chemical, and did not ensure that they were readily accessible during each work shift to employees when they were in their work area(s) a) Fort Donelson Battlefield/Cemetery: On or about August 25, 2021, and at times prior, the employer exposed employees to chemical hazards in that the employer did not have a chemical inventory/list for chemicals such as but not limited to gasoline, carb and choke cleaner, bug degreaser that are used in the workplace. In accordance with 29 CFR 1903.19(c), abatement certification is required for this violation (using the CERTIFICATION OF CORRECTIVE ACTION WORKSHEET).
